Rustic Recycled Timber Kitchen
We were so pleased to be part of creating this rustic recycled timber kitchen in Melbourne’s fringe suburb of Fitzroy.
We love working with clients who know what they want, so this project was a team effort from the very beginning.
This bespoke country kitchen was manufactured from recycled kiln dried hardwood which the owner sourced from local area.
To ensure a period look, we went with our signature in frame cabinet construction and exposed hinges but decided on flat panel doors and drawer fronts for a more rustic finish.
Our hand crafted solid timber dovetail drawer boxes were always going to feature in this timber kitchen, but the inclusion of custom made timber inserts added the extra something to the authenticity.
This rustic recycled timber kitchen was carefully crafted keeping the period charm of this home always in mind. All timber surfaces have been meticulously stained and varnished to respect, and protect the precious reclaimed materials.
We custom made the solid timber cornice and skirting boards to match existing, machining them in house with our ‘Old Melbourne’ profile.
The recycled marble bench top also provided by the client, is a lovely contrast to the timber.
We hand made the chopping block which we then integrated into the marble bench top. This really helped to maximise the usable workspace.
